Frequently asked questions about our accessories
Beard brush, comb and beard bar, all about materials, use and what you need for your routine.
Which accessories do I really need?
Depends on your beard length. Up to 5 mm stubble: you don't really need accessories for your beard yet, the beard bar is however useful to keep your sink clean after shaving or trimming. 5-20 mm: add a comb for styling and distributing balm or oil. 20 mm+: a brush becomes essential, only a boar-bristle brush distributes natural skin oils through the whole beard. For long beards we recommend our Brush & Comb Set.
What's the difference between a beard brush and a beard comb?
They do two different things. A brush (boar bristle) distributes natural skin oils into every hair, nourishes and removes dead skin, it's a care step. A comb styles, separates hairs, distributes oil or balm evenly and gives a clean finish, it's a styling step. From 2 cm up, you want both: brush first, then comb.
Why cherry wood and boar bristle?
Cherry wood is warm, dense and naturally antistatic, unlike plastic combs, it doesn't snag hairs, doesn't create static and doesn't break hairs. It's also sustainably sourced and develops a beautiful patina. Boar bristle has a unique structure that picks up skin sebum and distributes it along the full hair length, no synthetic bristle does that. Together: premium materials that do the job without compromise.
How do I use the beard bar?
The beard bar is not a product for your beard, it's a tool to keep your sink clean. After shaving or trimming, loose hairs always stay behind in the sink. Swipe the micro-sponge through the basin in one motion and all the hairs are picked up, no paper towels, no wet washcloths, no hassle. Rinse the bar under the tap afterwards and let it dry. You save minutes every morning and avoid friction at home.
How do I care for my accessories?
Brush: every 1-2 weeks with warm water and a little shampoo, rinse, pat, dry bristles-down. Comb: weekly with lukewarm water and mild soap, pat dry, never leave in water (wood moves). Bar: rinse with cold water after each use and pat dry. Occasionally rub the cherry wood with a drop of beard oil to nourish and preserve the patina.
Is the Brush & Comb Set cheaper than buying separately?
Yes. Separately, the brush is €16.95 and the comb €14.95, totalling €31.90. The Brush & Comb Set costs €25.95, over 18% off. The set also includes the PU-leather comb case and matching packaging, handy as a gift. For a beard of 2 cm+ you need both, so the set is almost always the better choice.
